Behavior Consultation

I work with you to identify reasonable goals and management measures to address unwanted pet behavior, while introducing techniques and exercises so you can teach your dog a better way to behave.

I offer an initial behavior consultation for all first-time clients. It includes gathering behavior history and a temperament assessment. It’s designed to understand the dog, the dog’s needs, and the behavior as well as find out about the human client and their needs. My clients come away from their first consult with a behavior plan and suggestions.

 Canine Good Citizen

As a qualified CGC (Canine Good Citizen) instructor I offer a comprehensive training program to clients interested in achieving this accolade.

CGC (Canine Good Citizen) by AKC (American Kennel Club) is a ten-skill training program that’s open to all dogs, that focuses on teaching the basics of good manners and obedience, instilling the values of responsible ownership, and strengthening the bond between you and your dog at home and out in the community. The CGC title is also a prerequisite for many therapy dog certifications. Some homeowners’ insurance programs even offer discounts for CGC dogs, and an increasing number of apartments and condos see CGC awards as a major bonus for becoming a resident.

For dogs and owners who wish to prepare for the Canine Good Citizen Certification. All exercises are designed to over-prepare a dog for all 10 exercises necessary to receive the certification. 4 weeks of 1:1 instruction, plus 1 week for testing.

  • Age at start of class: 7+ months
  • Prerequisites: Basic Obedience
  • Class length: 4 sessions. Sessions are 1-1 1/2 hours. Sessions are usually scheduled on consecutive weeks.
  • Price for all 4 sessions: $400 plus $25 for the test.
